"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Matthew 6:26
“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith?" Matthew 6:28-30
In the sermon on the mount, Jesus allays the fears of those who are anxious in trying times. If your Father in heaven feeds the birds of the air, how much more will he bring to your table? If Solomon himself was not clothed as one of the flowers of the field, how much more will God clothe you? Are you not worth more to Him than they? Did Jesus die so that they might be saved?
That is a truth we so often forget. We covet from fear and desire for security, neglecting that which is most important. You are in the Father's hands. Be assured that God will give you your daily bread and renew you with the living water that is His Word.
